Burr: as many of you know, we lost @standup (eric agner) to cancer 2 days before this year's FAWM. he'd been a staple of this community for a decade and a half, and among other things was one of the most active contributors to the four-track cassette challenge: write.fawm.org/forums/441

the four of us on this song were already planning to do a tape, so we decided to mail a second one along to build up a tribute to our lost friend. the only rule was that no one was allowed to play bass. that would have been eric's part...

burr says: this tape arrived saturday, i opened it sunday, and i upon realizing i would probably need to write and sing something was paralyzed. i listened dozens of times and re-read all the posts in his caringbridge journal. an emerging theme of people's cherished memories — aside from music — was cycling. at the risk of overdoing it, i decided to roll with that metaphor. it took me several vocal takes to get through it since i kept crying. but here it is. we miss you, bass man.
