Not A Dream (It's Over) - (4-track Cassette collab)

about

4-track Cassette Collaboration - One track added at a time, and then the tape was snail-mailed for the next person to compose and add their track, blindly. This one had guitar added first (Eric Agner, Washington DC), followed by bass guitar (me, Michigan) and then lyrics/vocals (Larry Seger, California) and then percussion (Elaine DiMasi, New York). who then mixed it all down and posted it. I cleaned it up with noise reduction and mastered it.

Right away, the guitar, Eric wrote seemed to fly back straight into the 80's and we ran with it. ;-)

lyrics

This is not a dream, it's over
My heart is no longer in play.
Not gonna be your part time lover,
No, I'm just not made that way.
This is not a dream
la, la, la, la, la, la la la, la, la, la

Wish I knew this from the start,
I was there just playing a part
in your story, where you were the star,
Too many bit parts.

Chorus

Too much of our time felt staged,
Your exits seemed so prearranged
In the wings, a cast of leading men,
waiting backstage.

Chorus

Tonight, we're at Shakespeare in the Park
Midsummer's where I'll make my mark
In this drama where the star sees the light,
Wakes from her slumber.

Chorus

about

ZeCoop Kalamazoo, Michigan

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
