Ostentatious
02:58
|
|
||
She is ostentatious
She's belly up all through the night she's
As I would be
As I would be
She's the daughter of pretense she's so
Woman
I run run run
She fight the frown down down
Call it a bull
And ride the ring
Around your eyes
Ride the river
She is gone gone gone
Away.
She fought back to kill your words
Her eyes can't know
No, no, no, she gone
her say she
Run run run
Away
She so little woman
Now I see
Money makes a man
Makes a woman
cry out loud to touch the world
Cry out to the sky now
Or don't you know
I love you.

Heaven of Dirt
03:49
|
|
||
Serve me a lesson God
Of pearls at least
To drown the subtle voices
Ocean-tide
Conscience voices
Rising further in rage
Than in countenance.
Save my eyes from the doubts of limits
Blind me to the basest of heroes
Their hands carry
The people as the prize
Of certainty.
Can we
Can we
Fail to see this
Heaven of dirt
Will God believe us
When we say
Oh no
We didn't know.
Make my guilt the beauty of gold
When you find a god who could fall down
Make my god without such hand
To smite me like a fly from the pulpit.
Can we
Can we
Fail to see this
Heaven of dirt
Will God believe us
When we say
Oh no
We didn't know.
Save my eyes from the doubts of limit
Serve me a lesson god of pearls at least.
I want to close my mouth
Close my eyes to an ever beautiful
Amen.

Could I Do This
03:23
|
|
||
Only alone could I do this thing she says
And here I have lots of company
Standing on my shoulders
And Stretching out my map of the world
Jamming down my shoulders
On the final day
Of the fire burn your river
I want to call you that night
I want to be home on that night
Only alone could I reap a world she says
I'm a loose life
The fire bite in your eyes
Divine in this light
Like prose.
Fog that you see
Head turned away from the world.
On the final day
Of the fire burn your river
I want to call you that night
I want to be home on that night
Only alone could I do this thing she says
And here I have lots of company
Standing on my shoulders
And stretching out my map of the world
Jamming down my shoulders

Burial of a Timepiece
04:10
|
|
||
She waited for what she saw
Was built of rock and the sea and
She was god.
Broken pencil pieces of love die and fall around me
I am this old cat lying around.
She builds a high mountain
With an accidental wrist pirouette
With dances of stone in her eyes.
Bet you that simplicity will change
Bet you the world starts breaking up it's knees again
Bet you cardboard replaces our dream of tomorrow
Bet you cardboard replaces the youth of tomorrow.
She is light and these fish like stars are begging the night for eyes
And we see them and they fall
She will fall rock bottom down to the oceanside
All gray with the pleasure from yesterday
All gray.
Bet you that simplicity will change
Bet you the world starts breaking up it's knees again
Bet you cardboard replaces our dream of tomorrow
Bet you cardboard replaces the youth of tomorrow.
We gouge the pieces out of the sky and we gouge out our eyes
And we call this the dance of progress.

Bending Rules
03:29
|
|
||
Back glances at your shackled stare
Hand on hand on man on man on...
Calling submissive
Forget repentance
Bending my rules
Keep a grin he says, he says
Keep a grimmace
A shadow of a smile for me.
It's the way words meant other things
The other day and today
And now I don't know he says
I truly wouldn't talk to you languid wind oh.
He says he says oh
Saw it there in the woods
Could have sworn it oh he says.
Bitter the strangle tree sounds
Walking in cranial pressure
What could I do, huh?
Well if you gain pleasure by touching me. If you touch on me and if you touch on me
Then he says, he says, he says
Back glances at your shackled stare
Hand on hand on man on man on...
Calling submissive
Forget repentance
Bending my rules
Bending my rules
Bending my rules

Rise
03:20
|
|
||
Used to be that you could rise
Now you find you're finding ways to
Cloud your
Hide you face.
But I won't ride down your waterfall
I won't risk me for running at you.
Be sure that you are, you are
What did you decide you are
Inside my wide eyes
Inside my wide eyes
You run down but you could be rise
I refuse to walk down your waterfall
I've been a little wrong but I do know what's right
And I say if I see the sun tomorrow here I come, here I come
Here I come.
Be sure that you are, you are
What did you decide you are
Inside my wide eyes
Inside my wide eyes
Used to be that you could rise
Now you find you're finding ways to
Cloud your
Hide you face

Puzzlemaker
03:50
|
|
||
Should you fear the puzzlemaker
Make a puzzle piece that will fit in to the life
In the sea of wondering wander
There seems to be
Seems to be, oh me.
Walking past the rail house
That night air seemed so free.
In the sea of wondering wander
There seems to be
Seems to be, oh me.
Now the life in the light is done
You could solve the puzzle but you haven't yet seen
the puzzlemaker.
In the sea of wondering wander
There seems to be
Seems to be, oh me

Finishing the World

Finishing The World
(instrumental, inspired by...)
She told me once
That a world with accidental hammer holes
Like craters and volcanoes
Was definately...
Unfinished
Left undone by some lazy union of construction gods.
I saw them I think.
They were waiting around after the funeral,
Smoking,
With boots too large
And overalls.
They had tractors and big chains.
The chants repeated,
Paradeisos
Thanatos
wandering in my mind
Paradeisos and thanatos
Paradeisos and
They and she
Were put into immense cement
Gold and black
Confinement.
With loud voices of chains and engines
The box was maneuvered into place
Like a conduit
For a new hotel
Everybody was thinking and frowning
About the old house to sell
And how to get home
As the gods filled in the hammer holes
With bulldozers and steamrollers
As smooth as her face
The coroner made "so nice"
Every experience tucked under the skin
With a quick make-up job.

70 Years

A Little Distance
Seems like seventy some odd years since
I've been with you.
Seems like seventy some odd years since
I've been with you.
Seems like seventy some odd years since
I've been I've been with you!
And in a little distance
We arrive there.
The shrugs shed from grey sky.
And in a little distance
We all fell-swept back
Back from the inkwash sky.
Seems like seventy some odd years since
I've been with you.
`Seems like seventy some odd years since I've been with you.
See me cut my brow
My words vanish like when
You were gone
I could have died alone
Saw me form my frown
This big wall between us
Cutting us in
One half /one half.
There had to be this wall between us
It has to be this wall between us
It had to be cause our sharks might eat us Seems like seventy some odd years since I've been with you.
