Broken Carousel (ft Piney)

from by ZeCoop

This song was written by my amazing lovely friend with acoustic guitar and vocal, then sent over to me for a "full band" treatment. I added my Ludwig drums, bass, several electric guitars and electric piano. She then added synth, melodica and harmony vocals.

I was sittin’ in the rain as the water washed away all of my shame
Tears fallin’ from the sky look exactly like the rain comin’ down from my eyes
Oh no one can tell I’m spinnin’ in a broken carousel
‘Til you walked on by…

You stop dead in your tracks noticin’ the flicker of the lights begin to clash
Clash against my silhouette steppin’ closer your Chuck Taylor's soakin’ wet

And you ask me why? Why you so sad?

‘Cause I keep spinnin’ around, spinnin’ around in the wrong direction...

Kick your feet up on the rail you’ve been here before oh yeah I can tell
Your face talkin’ to the sky oh wonderful place to let my high tops air dry
No one can tell we're spinnin’ in a broken carousel

And I ask myself why? Why you so sad?

As we keep spinnin’ around, spinnin’ around in the wrong direction

Oh, I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have a friend like you...

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
