Empathy Machine Unplugged (ft Holly Lanasolyluna)

from by ZeCoop

I wrote an incredibly dark sounding song, using mostly my 1980's Yamaha PSS keyboards, with a 'Disco' drum beat from my 1970's GEM Sprinter 49 combo organ, and a little electric guitar. Every year during FAWM I *love* the songs Holly Lanasolyluna and her husband compose on their old Casio keyboards and I knew Holly's vocals would be perfect.

Holly wrote an incredibly thought provoking set of lyrics and amazed me as always with her stunning vocals.

Check out more of Holly's music:

Tree dances with tender wrists
Under a sky of smoggy cysts
Nevertheless, she persists

Say we’ve got a better country
Well perhaps you’ve never met me
Or maybe you have
You can carry out those schemes
That feed on peaceful people’s dreams
No lines in the sand, you can

Make new facts to hide your tracks
Paint history white where it was brown or black
that’s just how the cards are stacked

Where have you all gone?
Has this just begun? Just begun?

Stars, stripes, red, white, blue
I was born here, and
I deserve this space more than you

Where have you all gone?
Has this just begun? Just begun?

Head scarf takes away her rights
My wife is in the kitchen
While I watch pundits fight, I’ll get some tonight

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
