Enigma (ft Karlos Harrison)

My fourth 8-track cassette tape song in four days... I'm loving this process. ๐Ÿ˜€

I recorded all the drums earlier this week with no idea of the how the songs would end up. This was a really fun one to play. Maybe I could have made it longer, but having short songs is actually a nice change of pace for me.

I got started on this one around 11pm and things flowed really naturally. It was a joy to write this song, and I recorded basically the first part of each instrument I made up.

It all sounded pretty mysterious, hence the title. ๐Ÿ˜€

Gear:
Everything was recorded on my Tascam 488mkII 8-track cassette
1973 Ludwig Hollywood drum kit
Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro through a 1973 Traynor YGL-3 amp (currently my favorite amp with tremolo and reverb) through a Vintage 30 12" speaker
Fender Jazz bass guitar into a Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver direct input

Karl:
having hit 14 i now busier than ever! So i heard this one from John and instantly heard something and it always makes a nice change for us when we can nail something a bit less rock fueled, although i bloody love those tracks. I can say John that the verse sounds like supergrass later albums ๐Ÿ˜‰ . Massive thank you again for being such a superstar FAWM being and again your ouput this year has been a huge credit to your amazing abilities to channel your inner self into something so positive.
So i created a harmony fueled spacey type melody to go over John's music and ended up lyrically reflecting the time 5 years ago when Karl part 2 was born, and a few of the things i was going through in my stuck in a box life which on the surface was perfect Good job, nice house, lovely girlfriend etc
