Fragile

I sat down to write a song, thinking of the year that we have all gone through, and this came out. Starting with the loss of my brother in Jan 2020 and then going into Covid and all the isolation, closure, quarantine and emotional struggles of so many, the emotion seemed to come out through the guitar.

Life is a tenuous thing in the best of times and you quickly can find out how fast things can change. I am hoping we are moving into better times and regaining some of the 'normal' we had before, like seeing family and friends more. But, as I look back on the year, I realize that I really don't want a lot of the 'normal' that we had. I have connected with people in different ways and adapted. I think a lot more empathy has come out, even though it is apparent that many have less empathy than we thought they would.

Life is fragile. Take care of each other.

Technical notes: This is actually my 14th song!!! There are two repeat songs (vocal versions of earlier songs) and one awesome song (Sabrina Says) that was not mine, but I added to). So, I am now a FAWM 2021 Winner!!
