Heavy Metal Valentine (ft Alex Klages)

Yes, we know it is no longer Valentine's Day, but on that day, when the world turns bright pink and we all get our special hearts as profile pictures, a particularly 'Hollow' FAWMer was not pleased. He was very unhappy and was NOT on our team.

That's ok, because he is on OUR team, because FAWM is our team! Here at FAWM, we STILL love him and wanted to send him a special Valentine to let him know. <3

I got out my Peavey Bandit amp for one of the guitar tracks, because duh... 80's!!, but also used the Hudsonics amp, made by @dragondreams. I had SO much fun making this music and had SO much fun mixing in Alex's awesome vocals that completely fit in.

Oh, and I am not one to do guitar solos, especially hair metal shredding solos, but I added a uni-vibe pedal for some swagger and though it only has about 5 actual notes it plays a WHOLE LOT of them with some very fast (read: messy) picking, haha. At least my right hand was metal, even if my fretting fingers were not.

OK, got that out of my system. This song is for all the people who ask "but you call yourself Metalfoot, how come you never do any metal?" So this is a lovely little bit of pop/glam/hair metal to point them to. I wrote the lyrics in the motif of most of the hair metal I remember hearing on the radio back in the 80s. I think I mostly succeeded. My intentions were simply and purely to bring the glory of hair metal back to an unsuspecting audience AND to have a reason at long last to buy that neon purple bodysuit and go on world tour. Or something.
