Lyrics are a response to an racist attack on a Chinese student in Sheffield, who was wearing a face mask to protect against corona virus (as advised to do by the media in China and Hong Kong)

(something - he's got a lot on his mind) <- Nope, not really 😝
Liner notes really say it all, I thought something might come up like this surrounding the coronavirus but when something popped up in my newsfeed that some thugs had done this in my hometown, it really wound me up. I love Sheffield and makes my mad that there are these idiots that live here. Not saying I wouldn't be mad if it happened elsewhere but it was close to home and that made it worse.

Seemanski and I have been writing songs together since 2012, when he saved my otherwise useless output (computer died) with an amazing collaboration. We collaborated on songs in 2013, 14, and 15 and then he took a very understandable break to raise his daughter and we resumed songwriting last year... I'm pumped that we got another one done, and Mike really wrote a tough, honest assessment/response to some of the most horrible examples of human nature.
My second full 8-track cassette production - I think I'm getting the hang of this thing again! I wrote and recorded five drum songs last night and completed the first last night. I took a 3 hour nap after work today (MUCH needed) and felt rested and rejuvenated, so I thought I would have a go at the fast and loud drum song I had written.
By the way, none of these had any kind of click track when I was recording them and I'm pretty happy with how I kept time. This one obviously needed to have some crunchy guitars and I just kept piling them on... One Les Paul... Two Les Pauls.... THREE LES PAULS!!! Plus bass guitar. I had a lot of fun with this one and it all came together really fast.
Gear in order of appearance (except they all appear at the exact same time, lol):
1973 Ludwig Hollywood drum kit
Agile AL-3100 Les Paul (humbucker pickups)
Epiphone Traditional Pro Les Paul (single coil pickups)
Gibson Les Paul Special (P-90 pickups)
all Les Pauls through a 1973 Traynor YGL-3 amp into a Vintage 30 speaker
Peavey T-40 bass guitar
