Polar Bear Waltz

I was feeling very unmotivated today. Work intrusions over the last few days had gotten me down, as it just seems to be one thing after another. So I took most of today off, unwillingly - took a nap, took my wife to get her first Covid vaccine (yay!!) (jealous!) Got back and ate dinner, and then started working. i thought that the One Synth challenge would be at least a fun place to start.

So, I got out one of my favorites - a 1987 Yamaha PSS470! You might say, I thought this was a one SYNTH challenge and this is definitely not a high tech fancy synth... Well, it says synthesizer right one it, so there. 😉 I mean it is definitely a toy keyboard, but it's a fun one. The synthesizer section gives you lots of sonic possibilities to shape the sounds while still sounding like a vintage Yamaha PSS keyboard, which I love.

So things went well and I had fun. Mission accomplished! Laid down some drums followed by "Jazz Guitar" (sure, let's go with that name!), "Music Box" (which is far closer), "Flute" (ok, kinda sorta), and "Jazz Organ" (uh... no). For the bass I dialed up a synthy sound that I liked. I just built one part leading to the next (and added copious amounts of reverb, lol). Since it is currently around 13F outside and 3F with the wind chill, I named it accordingly. 😀
