about

Starting as a simple poetry reading with acoustic guitar accompaniment, we just kept adding bits and pieces... until we ended up with this. :) Best listened to in headphones - there are a lot of things going on in this song. It's always been one of my favorites.

Oh, and it was once described as sounding like "Cats walking on broken glass..." by a grad student in the lab I worked in at the time. :)

lyrics

The streets plead, they aren't sullen - just tired, deprived and sad
They can take the blood from you words
But it's not meant to harm you
They initiate and bring into the worlds
a being out of another inside of someone
Concentric voodoo eyes circle and birth is in the hand
A knife is a silvery toy
A gun
A razor-blade across the thin wrist skin
No
"We raised you; we saved you from hell."
Eyes glare down
"We helped you to who you are and now you are a street corner,
street lamp. you are we - the street."
All lost in a maze of sad movies
Drifting over rooftops and scaring pigeons away

about

ZeCoop Kalamazoo, Michigan

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
