Soma Street (ft Karlos Harrison)

about

I wrote this song really quickly, when I picked up my electric 12 string guitar and put on a little flange... A lot of my influences showed up all of a sudden. And when Karl heard it, it immediately struck a chord and he modified some lyrics from his brother-in-law and came up with a wild story inspired by current events and the desire to get someplace relaxed (like Soma Street).

Oh... and Karl was travelling in Thailand when we heard this song, recording his vocals into his phone!!

lyrics

Look of destruction
It's time to ignore
All of our troubles that have gone before
Raft on the ocean
Feeling unknown
Doesn't mean I'm standing here alone
Because you're like a zombie
But we all are zombies
It's us against the world with no guarantees

Oh Soma Street
We are all trying to reach
Soma Street
Feel the off-time beat

So mass destruction
A military whore
A man with finger on the button cloned from Zsa Zsa Gabor
Across the ocean
We're not much better off
We might as well be ruled by a drunk Hasselhoff
Pontificate just to please
Because you are the big cheese
We fight against them all come on and join me
It's us against them all so together we'll meet

Oh Soma Street
We are all trying to reach
Soma Street
Feeling the off-time beat
Harmony in the street
The energy Eastern sweet
We are all trying to reach
Soma Soma street

We are all zombies
It's us against the world with no guarantees

about

ZeCoop Kalamazoo, Michigan

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
