about

A massive thank you to EVERYONE who commented on or listened to or sent me messages or interacted with me during FAWM 2020. Huge thanks. I can't thank you enough. This FAWM has been the hardest and most rewarding FAWM I have ever done in 10 years of FAWMing and I cannot imagine a better, more supportive, loving, caring online community than this one, so THANK YOU!!! 😀

After I finished up my regularly scheduled FAWM (joke - this FAWM had no solid plans), I decided to end with as many songs with my dad's lyrics as I could muster. Please go check out his page - @srcoops - As unlikely as it sounds, February Album Writing Month means the world to my 83 year old father. You all have lifted me and my whole family in ways you cannot even begin to imagine. 😀

This is the fourth song I did since last night with dad's lyrics, and really resonates as an 'end'. It is by FAR the most emotional of those four and the most meaningful. I cannot even count the times I have gone to text my brother Tom. I saw tonight a FB message from my FAWM friend Tom (@vomvorton) and just for a second, thought I had gotten a message from my brother. I don't know when that will stop, but I miss him so much I cannot possibly describe it. My dad's lyrics describe it perfectly, even though he is coming from a different place as the author.

Thank you for listening. Thank you for commenting. Thank you for being the most amazing musical community I have ever found.

This is my FAWM 2020 farewell... <3 <3 <3 <3

This is Srcoops adding on. Sadly, many men my age are sitting in a wheelchair in a nursing home with their head down and nothing left for them but to die. What a lucky guy am I to have my lovely wife, supportive family, and the wonderful FAWM community to keep me alive and happy in my final years. John and Rob, what can I say about your loving attention to this old man. And all of you in FAWM, your kind words and beautiful music will sustain me through the coming months. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It is my fervent hope that the Lord will grant me another year to be with you again.

lyrics

It has come to me
That over time
My closest friends
Are gone

I stare at my telephone
And realize
There’s no one
Left to call

It once was true
That we would chat
About the game
Or this and that

We’d swap the
Latest jokes we that heard
And we'd laugh out loud
Like silly guys

Now the telephone
Is dead and silent
No more the friendly call
My buddies are gone

How long before
I join that crowd
My phone goes silent
As I bid the world goodbye

about

ZeCoop Kalamazoo, Michigan

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
