about

After I did the two songs with backwards drums, using my Tascam 488mkII 8-track cassette player, I had an idea that sounded very interesting (and terrifying)...

I wanted to record two songs by recording four tracks and then turning the tape over and recording the rest. The first song would be side A and the second song would be side B, and you would have a mix of forward and backwards in both. They would share the same chords, but in the reverse order (and obviously sounding a lot different).

So, here you go with Side A, or Part 1 - Each song was specifically mixed, separately, for that particular song.

Gear:
Tascam 488mkII 8-track, of course
Agile Harm 3 electric 12 string
Danelectro DC59
Fender Jazz bass
Casio CT-360 for the drums, reverse drums and blippy octave part (via Canyon delay, MXR chorus and Oceans 11 reverb)
1970's Yamaha CP-25 electric piano
1970's Roland RS-202 Strings synth

about

ZeCoop Kalamazoo, Michigan

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
