I was hoping to write another song with Huan-Hua Chye this year, and thought of her voice when i wrote this sad, slow, mornful 6/8 song with a Rhodes piano sound. I filled it in with some drums (pretty proud I could play that part, if I do say so myself), then bass and guitar. Luckily, she had been thinking of a slow sad, 3/4 (or 6/8) song for the card she was given for the Tarot card challenge. She also was able to carve out some time to write and record her parts! What an honor it is once again, to work with amazing musicians like Huan-Hua. 😀
Yamaha P-120 (Rhodes sound)
Danelectro DC59 electric guitar
Fender Jazz bass
1973 Ludwig Hollywood drum set.

Huan-Hua:
happy I got a chance to do another collab with ZeCoop this year! I love the moody, atmospheric sound of this track and as he mentions, I was already thinking of a sad song in 3/4 because of the card writeandwrong drew for me for this challenge.
I drew The Three of Swords (Painful separation, sorrow heartbreak, grief, rejection) in the tarot challenge and then did an online tarot reading for my character that I based the rest of the lyrics on. I can't recall the configuration (and I don't know how to read Tarot cards in any case), but the cards from the reading were:
Strength (strength, courage, patience, control)
The Moon (illusion, deception, fear, anxiety)
The Devil (addiction, materialism, attachment/bondage)
The Hermit (introspection, soul-searching)
The Fool (new beginnings, spontaneity)
The Magician (power, skill, action, resourcefulness)
The High Priestess (intuition, the subconscious, higher powers)
The Empress (feminine power, nature, connection)
Death (change, transformation, transition, endings)
