ZeCoop:
2021 has been a super busy, productive and fun FAWM. My brother and I nearly didn't have time to get a collab in, but that would not be right! So he sent me something different to start us off this year. He used his Yamaha PSS130 and made a song with the various beats, pushing the patterns and fills live. I took that and adjusted a few sections before adding some Volca Bass (turns out the PSS130 drums were tuned to Ab, so I went with it), and some electric piano with my Yamaha CP25. Back over to Rob, who added a couple guitars and live drums. I mixed everything down, chopped up the PSS drums to give some variety and we ended up with a very fun, happy, eclectic, piece of music which for me makes me picture sitting back and relaxing after doing something very productive. FAWM was CERTAINLY productive and I have a lot to look back at and appreciate. My wife who is so understanding, my situation, all the wonderful collaborators and people who encouraged me. One of the biggest things I appreciate is my brother, and of course the rest of my family who I love so much. Plus, everyone here at FAWM!!

This is the last song I am working on (although some collabs will likely show up) - thank you!!! 😀

Rob: This was really fun. We typically do more throughout FAWM, but this year it couldn't happen. Well, We were getting down to the last three days and I just couldn't swallow doing a whole FAWM without a collab with @zecoop, so I put together a rhythm on my little Yamaha keyboard. The thought behind that was we always try to push the boundaries of what we have done before, so this would be a different route. I sent that to him, then he sent back the rhythm with Volca Bass and CP25, and then I went from there. I always like songs that switch from drum machine to acoustic drums, so that was always the plan. What we ended up with is unexpected and very pleasant. I wanted a 12 string on this, but don't have one, so I used a standard 6 string and also recorded a "Nashville" tuned 6 string, which is a guitar strung with only the high strings of a 12 string. I also recorded my regular drums.....Very cool outcome.

about

ZeCoop Kalamazoo, Michigan

I love playing music and keep learning new instruments. My songs are in a wide range of styles, from indie-rock to surf, to folk to rock to electronic... I never know. I record at home in a studio I put together in a spare room. I work (via the web) with a lot of vocal/lyric collaborators from all over the world.
