ZeCoop:
I am SO excited to get to write a song with Ashley Brewer this year! I find it amazing that you can be here each year and yet never run into some FAWMers, and Ashley has been on FAWM since 2015. Well, after hearing her song Sabrina Says and adding drums/bass to it, I asked her to collaborate on another. As I did last year, I wrote and recorded a bunch of drum 'songs' on cassettes using my Tascam 8-track recorder. Then I listened through them and picked one to write a song to. It went really fast with some tremolo electric guitar first, acoustic, bass and finally electric piano. I sent it over and luckily she liked it! When I got her vocals today, I had to wait until work was done (ugh!!), but WOW, she just nailed the vibe and belted out an awesome vocal. I am so excited to be able to collaborate with amazing talents like Ashley - Thank you!!!

*weeps with joy* I've gotten to do so many collabs this year with amazing FAWMers, best FAWM ever *sobs* Seriously, I've been having a blast collabing this year, and as ZeCoop said, after he epic-ified my song, Sabrina Says, we agreed we both wanted to do a proper collab before FAWM was over. I was REALLY into the track he sent me, and the kind of dark Western vibe, which I was happy to lean into having just read "The Old Gringo" not to mention too much Cormac McCarthy. I also bust out my Big Girl pipes for this song, which is always fun. For some reason I also got "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" in my head as I was listening to the track and writing the vocal and lyrics, so I leaned into that a bit, too, with the contrasts of the faster vocal lines with the more open vocal lines, and the "Boy" repetitions. So glad to have gotten to know @zecoop's stuff and collab this year -- thanks again for a super fun collab!
