Wishing For Summer (ft Alex Klages)

I actually wrote this song for Alex before the last one we did, but it was worth the wait. I wrote this two days after I got home from my appendix surgery and couldn't lift much, so I used my Danelectro DC59 that weighs about 2 pounds, going through my Traynor YGM-3 amp. Songs always seem to fall out of that guitar, and I love it so much. This one wrote itself in about 10 minutes and it had a very light, happy feel, so I thought of Alex.

I also couldn't use my full drum set, so i recorded the hihat cymbal and snare drum separately, and had a dish towel over the snare drum to give it a distinct sound (thanks Ringo!). Alex came up with what I consider the PERFECT subject, near and dear to my heart... SUMMER!! YAY!!!!!

Alex:
I had a lot of fun writing lyrics and melody to this one. The melody kind of naturally popped out of the chord structure. Not my best vocal take as my cold does weird things to my voice but I'm content with it.
